Students Participate in Starlight Gown Contest Students Participate in Starlight Gown Contest: Cato-Meridian Middle School fifth graders recently read about the bravery of children who have long hospital stays and discussed ways to help make those children feel better.   Students used their creativity to participate in the Starlight Gown contest, sponsored by Scholastic Books, in support of the Starlight Children’s Foundation. Each student designed a hospital gown that children might like to wear instead of the traditional gowns that are uncomfortable and unflattering.   Starlight gowns open on the side instead of at the back, which gives more privacy to the wearer. They also have plastic snaps at the top and side, which make it easier to receive medication or have scans done, and they come in a variety of fun and colorful patterns.   This is the second ...
