A warm welcome is extended to our new High School Resource Officer, Roger Misso!
My name is Roger Misso, and I am the new School Resource Officer at Cato-Meridian High School. I live in Red Creek with my wife, Sandy. We have three adult children and two grandkids, with a third on the way. I grew up in western New York in the town of Albion where I attended Albion Central School. I received my bachelor’s degree in physics from SUNY Brockport, with minors in math and military science.
I retired as a Sergeant from the New York State Police in May 2018 with a twenty-nine-year career. My first 15 years were spent as a Trooper where my duties included: traffic safety and enforcement, criminal and non-criminal investigations, and community policing. I also served as a Field Training Officer, where I taught new graduates of the State Police Academy how to perform the duties of a Trooper. I have worked all around New York State most recently in Zone Two, headquartered in Auburn. Besides law enforcement, I am an Army veteran. I retired from the New York Army National Guard in August 2014 after serving over twenty-seven years. I also experienced one tour of combat duty in Afghanistan from 2008-09.
My training and experiences in law enforcement and the Army will help me provide a safer school and safer kids. The faculty and staff can expect me to be an integral part of the Cato-Meridian Safety Team. I consider myself a subject-matter-expert on law enforcement and legal issues, and I believe a collaborative approach with educators, parents, and students will provide a means to maintain a safe and effective learning environment. I am available to talk to students and staff about safety, bullying and social media issues, or anything else from my previous careers that may be of help.
My name is Mark Lovell and I am the new School Resource Officer at the Cato-Meridian Elementary and Middle Schools. I live in Baldwinsville with my wife and we have three children. I grew up in Elbridge, NY where I attended Jordan-Elbridge Schools and I received an Associate’s Degree in Computer Science from Cayuga Community College.
I just completed a thirty-year career as a Trooper with the New York State Police. I spent my entire career in the Central New York area where my duties included: traffic safety and enforcement, criminal and non-criminal investigations, and community policing. I also served as a Field Training Officer, where I taught new graduates of the State Police Academy how to perform the duties of a Trooper.
I am excited about my new career as a School Resource Officer at Cato-Meridian. Throughout my career as a Trooper, I worked with children of all ages in various situations. I will use my experience to aid in protecting and supporting the students of Cato-Meridian. I also want to be a resource for the faculty and staff. I am available to talk to students about safety, bullying and social media issues or anything else from my previous career that may be of help.
