Kickboxing

High intensity interval boxing, kickboxing and cross training all in one class. Train like an athlete with intense cross training for agility, speed, strength, conditioning and power.

Evening Yoga
Instructor:  Betsy Naselli
Introduces the basic principles and practices of Hatha Yoga, and sets the context for further study. Students will develop a clear foundation for asana practice, with an emphasis on proper alignment and body awareness, basic breath training and Yoga meditation.

Osteoporosis
Bone Builders

This program consists of warm up exercises, progressive weight training and balance exercises all designed to help prevent and treat Osteoporosis.

This class is FREE to both members & non-members!  An orientation and Dr.’s release is required, before participation.

Pickleball
PickleBall is a tennis type, paddle game played inside with a wiffle ball.  We are playing pick-up style games in the gym. We provide all the equipment and someone will be here to help you learn.

Yoga - Weekend Yoga

Gentle Yoga is a class structured around rejuvenating and healing the body.
Vinyasa (or “flow”) yoga links breath with movement to create a flowing meditation in movement. Modifications are given for beginner students and variations are offered for more advanced students.

(Max Interval Training)

You work flat out in 3 to 5-minute blocks and take short breaks and get right back to work. It's called Max Interval Training because it keeps your body working at maximum capacity through your entire workout.

Living Fit

A class specifically designed for seniors. These classes are to strengthen the body and focus on better balance to reverse the major trend of 78% of older adults falling in Cayuga County.

Tumbling-Beginner
Begins   February 29th 
Ends     April 4th
This is a beginner class that will teach the basic fundamentals of tumbling. Students in this class will work on basic progressions: forward rolls, backward rolls, handstands, handstand drills, cartwheels, and round-offs. Strength and flexibility will be instructed each class and staff will assist each student with hands-on spotting techniques.

Tumbling-Intermediate
Begins   February 29th 
Ends     April 4th
This class is geared for students who have mastered the basic tumbling skills and are ready to move on. The skills in this class are dive rolls, front walkovers, back walkovers, multiple cartwheels, and a two-step entry into a round-off. Strength, conditioning, and flexibility will also be taught each class session.

Indoor Cycling/Spin Class
 

This class is open to beginners as well as seasoned cyclists.  We will simulate pedaling through varied terrains, as well as sprints and other diverse drills to give you a great cardiovascular and strength building workout.  All you need to bring is your bike, water bottle, towel and bike trainer (if you have one).  The Rec Center will have a limited number of bike trainers available, so sign up early to reserve your trainer!

Ladies Who Lift

This class is specifically designed to teach weight training for women beginners. A class that teaches you exactly how to lift weights with good technique, how to make regular progress and get excellent results from your gym sessions. Only 8 class spots available.

Modern Dance Lessons

Instructor: Jessy VanHorn
Modern Dance is an interpretive, contemporary style of dancing that consists of specific techniques. It was initially created to rebel against the popular dance style of Ballet. In this class we will enjoy exciting new ways of moving, such as rolling, leaping, and handstands. Come and enjoy a more untraditional dance style.
Session Starts  February 25th and  runs through April 2nd.

   3-5 yrs old: 5:00 pm-5:30 pm
   6-8 yrs old: 5:30 pm-6:00 pm
                    Thursdays
   9-16 yrs old: 5:00 pm-5:45 pm
