WE HAVE MOVED!

The Special Education Office has moved to the High School in Room 22. Our phone number has stayed the same, 626-2739. We have a new Fax number, 626-2093. At the High School we will be having our meetings in Room 20, the "new" Conference/Training Center.

Please stop in and see us!

Other Summer News:

During the summer several special education staff and general education teachers have been working on a variety of projects. 

Staff have been expanding their knowledge of curriculum mapping and how to look at and analyze what they do through mapping to provide students with the most intensive and supportive programing to maximize learning opportunities.

Special education staff have been increasing their knowledge of curriculum based measures (CBM) so they can monitor student progress and make adjustments and changes to student programing to increase individual growth and results in learning. 

There are also groups working to improve the focus and intensity of our specialized reading instruction.  Staff have worked to develop assessments and resources that will help all special education staff to individualize and target student learning in the area of reading.

This fall we will be sending out a request for Parent Members for our Committee on Preschool Special Education (CPSE) and Committee on Special Education (CSE).  We have had some very dedicated people in the past but it is coming time to pass on the torch.  Do you have a little time that you could share? If you can donate as little as one hour a week,  we can use your support.  We are very flexible with the times and days for meetings. Please call Meg Schlegel if you are interested in donating your time, 626-2739.
