Cato-Meridian Central School District recently welcomed long-time educator Jen Dorschel as its new Curriculum Coordinator. Previously, Dorschel was an Administrative Intern and Instructional Coach at the North Syracuse Central School District. She also served in various roles at the Syracuse Academy of Science Charter School, including stints as a Teacher, Literacy Coach, and Principal.
“I’ll be very visible as the Curriculum Coordinator,” said Dorschel. “I will be in and out of the classrooms, supporting our students and teachers in any way that I can.”
In her new role, Dorschel will oversee curriculum, instruction, and assessment throughout the district. She will also support Cato-Meridian teachers as they work to make an impact on student achievement. One of her first initiatives is to oversee the district’s New Staff Orientation, which is slated for Wednesday, September 1.
“I’ve made positive and open relationships so far at Cato-Meridian,” said Dorschel. “Everyone has been very welcoming, and I can’t wait to meet the rest of the students, staff, and community.”
New Cato-Meridian Curriculum Coordinator Jen Dorschel comes to the district with 15 years of experience in various education roles.
