Cato-Meridian Students Excel At SkillsUSA Regional Competition

On Friday, February 9th, Cato-Meridian students participated in the SkillsUSA Area 2 Regional Competition at SUNY Morrisville. Under the guidance of Cayuga-Onondaga BOCES Career and Technical Education staff, Cato-Meridian students competed in events related to their chosen trade. Five students placed in the top three of their respective categories:

Advertising Design- Aaron Madden, 1st place 
Cabinetmaking- Jacob Lighthall, 2nd place
Collision Repair Technology- Gavin Parker, 3rd place
Motorcycle Service Technology- Shawn Hurd, 1st place
Small Engine Service Basic- Elizabeth McLain, 2nd place
 
"This is exciting news for our students in our CTE programs at BOCES," said Ms. Jennifer Kelly, Cato-Meridian Junior-Senior High School Principal. "I know a lot of time and hard work went into preparing for this competition. I’m so proud of their accomplishments. Nice job!"
