Cato-Meridian Junior-Senior High School Announces Class of 2024 Valedictorian, Salutatorian

Two exceptional seniors at Cato-Meridian Junior-Senior High School have earned the prestigious titles of Valedictorian and Salutatorian. 

Elijah Haga, son of John and Michele Haga, is the Class of 2024 Valedictorian. He has attained a weighted grade point average (GPA) of 102.80 and will graduate with over 40 college credit hours. Haga has challenged himself with accelerated, online, and advanced placement courses, and has achieved mastery level on all of his Regents examinations. Outside the classroom, he has participated in student council, National Honor Society, drama club, and has served on the school improvement committee. He recently earned his Seal of Biliteracy for proficiency in English and French. Haga has represented Cato-Meridian as a member of the varsity cross country, indoor track and field, and outdoor track and field teams. He will study electrical engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Nadia Dudley, daughter of Jean and Glen Dudley, is the Class of 2024 Salutatorian. She has achieved a weighted GPA of 102.68 and will graduate with more than 40 college credit hours. Dudley has succeeded in accelerated, online, and advanced placement courses, and has achieved mastery level on all of her Regents examinations. She has participated in Spanish club, student council, drama club, and has served on the school improvement committee. She recently earned her Seal of Biliteracy for proficiency in English and Spanish. Throughout her high school career, Dudley has been a member of the varsity cross country, indoor track and field, and outdoor track and field teams. Previously, she was a member of the junior varsity basketball team. Dudley will major in communications and media at Nazareth University and will join the school’s cross country and track and field teams. She is also considering minors in English and musical theatre.

“It has been an honor to watch both of these amazing individuals reach such high academic standards while being involved in numerous extracurricular activities,” said Ms. Jennifer Kelly, Cato-Meridian Junior-Senior High School Principal. “I have thoroughly enjoyed watching both of them at athletic events, in academic honors and as star members of our musicals. Eli and Nadia, my heart bursts with excitement for your futures. I know that you will both succeed and make our school family proud. I couldn’t be happier you both are attending the college of your dreams. Best of luck in all your future endeavors.”
