Dear Cato – Meridian Central School District Community,

We are pleased to share an update on the ongoing search for the next Superintendent of Schools for the Cato–Meridian Central School District. The Board of Education has been working diligently to review and narrow the pool of highly qualified candidates who have the potential to guide our district into a promising future.

This is a pivotal moment for our school district, as the Superintendent plays a crucial role in shaping the educational experiences of our students and the overall direction of our educational community. We are committed to ensuring that we select a candidate who possesses the skills, experience, and dedication necessary to continue the legacy of excellence we have built in Cato – Meridian.

Community input is essential in selecting a leader who reflects our district’s values and aspirations. We are very appreciative to all of you that participated in our Thought Exchange survey throughout the months of December and January. Your input assisted the Board of Education in the beginning stages of the search process. As we approach the phase of identifying finalist candidates, we would like to offer interested community members the opportunity to be considered for participation on the Community Stakeholder Committee. This committee will play a key role in reviewing candidates and providing feedback to the Board of Education.

If you are interested in being considered for the Community Stakeholder Committee, we invite you to complete the registration form found here: Community Stakeholder Interest Form

Once you access the form you will be able to see the dates and times required to participate. Please note that participants will need to be available for both days to be eligible to serve on the committee. The deadline for submission is Friday, February 28, 2025.

This form is for parents and community members who are not district employees. Our search consultant will collaborate with staff leadership to establish committees that represent the diverse perspectives and expertise within our school district. These committees will play an integral role in reviewing candidates and providing valuable input to the Board of Education. We believe that including diverse perspectives from our community, educators, and students will help us make an informed decision that aligns with the needs and aspirations of our district. If you are a student, faculty member, or staff member interested in participating in these committees, please stay tuned for further information from your building principals or staff leadership. Your active involvement is highly valued, and we encourage you to seize this opportunity to help shape the future leadership of our district.
