Superintendent Search Update: Finalists Announced

Dear Cato-Meridian Community,

We are excited to share an important update on our Superintendent search. This week, our two finalists, Mrs. Kasey Dolson and Mrs. Dee Froio, completed the final round of interviews.

As part of the "Day in the District" experience, both candidates visited our schools, met with staff, spoke with key stakeholders, and had a final discussion with the Board of Education. This process allowed us to gain a deeper understanding of their leadership styles and vision for our district.

Meet the Finalists:

Mrs. Kasey Dolson
Mrs. Dolson has been the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment in Liverpool Central School District since 2023. With over 20 years in education, she has served as a teacher, instructional coach, high school principal, and executive director. She is passionate about student-centered learning and has led efforts to integrate academics, social-emotional learning, and mental health support. Her leadership has strengthened Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS), expanded STEM and Career & Technical Education (CTE) programs, and emphasized data-driven decision-making. Mrs. Dolson values collaboration and believes in making sure all voices—students, staff, and community members—are heard. She is eager to build on Cato-Meridian’s tradition of excellence and innovation.

Mrs. Dee Froio
Mrs. Froio has served as the Assistant Superintendent for Teaching, Learning, and Accountability in Hannibal Central School District since 2016. A former middle school principal, she has focused on improving student achievement through strong instructional programs, curriculum development, and professional learning communities. She has led district-wide initiatives such as the Oswego County Literacy Initiative, MTSS implementation, and the development of a guaranteed and viable curriculum. She also serves as Hannibal’s Title IX Officer and represents the district on regional curriculum councils. Mrs. Froio is committed to high expectations while ensuring educators have the support and resources to help students succeed. She is excited about the opportunity to lead Cato-Meridian.

Next Steps:

The Board of Education is confident that both finalists bring the skills, experience, and dedication needed to lead our district forward. The Board of Education will make the final hiring decision, and engage in contract negotiations with the selected candidate. Once an agreement is finalized, we will officially announce and appoint our next Superintendent of Schools.

We sincerely appreciate everyone who participated in this process, especially our stakeholder committee members who took the time to provide valuable feedback. Your engagement reflects the strength of our community and our shared commitment to student success.

Sincerely,
Cato-Meridian Central School District Board of Education
