Cato-Meridian Board of Education Appoints Dee Froio as Next Superintendent of Schools
Cato, NY – April 24, 2025 — The Cato-Meridian Central School District Board of Education is proud to announce the appointment of Dee Froio as the next Superintendent of Schools, effective July 1, 2025. Following a comprehensive search process, the Board unanimously selected Ms. Froio for her proven leadership, commitment to student achievement, and passion for fostering school communities grounded in excellence and opportunity.
Ms. Froio currently serves as the Assistant Superintendent for Teaching, Learning, and Accountability in the Hannibal Central School District, where she has led districtwide instructional initiatives, supported educators, and championed student-focused programs. With a track record of collaborative leadership and a deep belief in the power of relationships, Ms. Froio brings with her a wealth of experience from a variety of educational roles.
Her career in education began as a high school social studies teacher at Cicero-North Syracuse High School, where she taught grades 10–12 from 2001 to 2008. She then served as an Administrative Intern and Dean at the same school before moving into administrative leadership roles across multiple districts, including Assistant Principal and Acting Principal positions in the Baldwinsville Central School District, and later as Principal of Dennis M. Kenney Middle School in Hannibal.
Ms. Froio is a proud alumna of Syracuse University, where she earned a Certificate of Advanced Study in Educational Leadership (2008), a Master of Science in Social Studies Education (2000), and a Bachelor of Arts in History and Psychology (1998).
In accepting the appointment, Ms. Froio shared, "It is truly an honor to serve the Cato-Meridian school community. I’m excited to listen, learn, and lead alongside our students, staff, families, and community members as we build on our proud tradition of excellence. The future is bright, and I look forward to shaping it alongside this incredible community."
